Girls Weekend

This weekend Daniel and his friend, Josh, went to another island to play in a couple basketball games. JoAnn and I stayed behind and had a fun girls weekend. Since Daniel was gone and I was a little bored, I went to the mall and got JoAnn a big foam puzzle for the floor in her room. I decided since she is learning to walk and we only have tile floors, it was probably a good idea. It since has become a favorite toy. I am finding random letters all over the house. I haven't decided yet if it will last.

Before...

After...
While Daniel was gone I decided JoAnn is the most active 11 month old that I have seen in a long time. I continue to find her crawling under and behind everything. Her latest place is under the coffee table. The bottom of it is about 8-10 inches off the ground and she managed to climb up and then get down all by herself without any problem. Then right after Daniel got home today she was so excited to see him that she took 6 steps without holding on to anything! It just seems so strange to see such a tall skinny bald baby walking.

Trip to Immigration

Yesterday was a big day for JoAnn. She had to go down to Immigration and get her fringerprints and picture taken for her I-card. For those of you not in the Philippines that may not mean much to you, but to us that is a big deal. JoAnn is no longer just a tourist. This means we don't have to get an extension on her visa for two years instead of every two months. Very exciting!
The trip to Immigration is really only a few miles but it takes a long time since it is located in Intramuros right in the heart of the city. We opted to drive and the traffic was exactly what we expected...terrible. I couldn't resist taking a picture.
Once we got there Daniel and I were amazed that it only took us 40 minutes to do everything. Usually things are just not very organized, but other than having to walk back and forth between two buildings that were about 2 blocks apart they were extremely organized. It was shocking to say the least. My favorite part had to be the sign that read "Derogatory Check." Neither of us could figure out what in the world that line could be for. I wish I could have taken a picture of it. On our way home we stopped for lunch at Fazoli's and I think I found her new favorite food, spaghetti. It is the only thing that I haven't had to fight with her to get her to eat lately.

First post

So I am new to this blogging thing and not the greatest writer. However, I thought I would give it a try since it is a great way to let everyone know what's going on in my life. I am terrible at keeping in touch with everyone and often get a little bored, so this was my solution. Hopefully I will keep up with it more than just a few days.
